CLIL is a type of educational approach focusing on content and language when especially learning languages such as English and Japanese, which has been popular in Europe. CLIL should be a learning approach which can be applied in any learning contexts such languages schools, kindergartens, and universities, The CLIL Teacher Education Program supports teachers who apply CLIL pedagogy.
*What is the JAT (J-CLIL Accredited Teacher) ?
CLIL is integrated learning that can be useful as practical tools, such as studying science and maths, doing sports, and playing music. The CTEP supports teachers who teach CLIL. The JAT (J-CLIL Accredited Teacher) は,そis a certificate for CLIL teachers who are confident to teach CLIL.

What is CTEP?
CLIL is gradually becoming familiar to teachers and learners in Japan.CLIL Institute for Teacher Education (CLIL-ite) provides the CTEP for people who are interested in CLIL pedagogy. If you want to teach CLIL or learn CLIL teaching, why not join this program? The CTEP is a bilingual teacher education program and easy to access.
CTEP Curriculum
The CTEP Curriculum has 6 modules
Module 1: CLIL teaching methodology
Module 2: CLIL lesson study
Module 3: CLIL classroom management
Module 4: CLIL classroom activities
Module 5: CLIL classroom language use
Module 6: ELT and CLIL pedagogy

The course students study the basics of CLIL pedagogy online. The online contents comprises recorded video materials and additional real time tutorials.

The course students are expected to take part in workshops on their individual study themes and study CLIL practically.

If possible, The course students also take part in CLIL seminars and have further practical studies.

CLIL study courses should be provided bilingually - English and Japanese, but not English only.
Accreditation
If you complete the program, you will receive the CLIL teacher certificate accredited by J-CLIL (the Japan CLIL Pedagogy Association). The CLIL teacher certificate demonstrates that you can teach CLIL but does not guarantee that you are a professional CLIL practitioner. Moreover, it is not an official certificate, but it certainly assures that you can say, for example, 'I am a CLIL teacher, and I can use CLIL approaches in my classroom.' After completion, we assure you will be able to teach CLIL with confidence.
The process of the accreditation of J-CLIL accredited teacher (JAT) has the 2 steps:

CLIL presentation in English (30 minutes)

CLIL research paper in English (5,000 to 8,000 words)
J-CLIL & CLIL-ite experts will assess you.

Online learning courses
The online CTEP course site has the Textbook, the course videos, the related videos (CLIL practitioners' talks, classroom videos, etc.) You can learn the basics of CLIL pedagogy, and think about CLIL pedagogy or CLIL ideas through watching the related videos. In your autonomous CLIL learning, you can have some real-time ZOOM meetings (tutorial sessions, discussions, etc.), if you wish, and then you can ask questions about CLIL and discuss your CLIL practice and research, because you will have to prepare your CLIL research presentation and practical research paper for getting the certificate for JAT.
